Woodland Beach State Wildlife Management Area Stop

Continuing north after departing Broad Acres Family Farm, the 250Ride.org reenactment made a planned stop at Woodland Beach State Wildlife Management Area on June 12, 2026. The peaceful setting offered the perfect opportunity to rest and care for the horses before continuing their historic journey toward Philadelphia.

It was also here that Louise Poppiti joined the carriage, becoming the next special guest to experience a portion of Caesar Rodney's Ride for Independence firsthand. From Woodland Beach, the team continued north along Route 9, traveling through Delaware's scenic countryside as the two-day reenactment faithfully retraced one of America's most important rides.

The 250 Ride is a historical and educational initiative of the Delaware Italian American Foundation, honoring Caesar Rodney's legendary ride for Independence and the unheard voices who helped shape America's founding. Through reenactment, community events, and storytelling, we bring history to life as we approach America’s 250th anniversary.
