Our Commitment
250Ride.org is committed to telling the story of the American founding with care, integrity, and respect. Our work is grounded in historical research, community collaboration, and a belief that history is best understood when it is shared openly and honestly.
We are committed to presenting the events surrounding the American Revolution as living history, rooted in real places, real people, and real consequences. While our work includes reenactment and interpretation, our goal is education, reflection, and engagement, not spectacle. We strive for accuracy while recognizing that history is complex and often contested, and we welcome thoughtful dialogue and continued learning.
We are equally committed to honoring the Unheard Voices of the Revolution. Women, African Americans, Native Americans, civilians, and community leaders played meaningful roles in shaping the era, even when their stories were excluded from traditional narratives. We approach these stories with humility and care, working to avoid caricature, oversimplification, or appropriation.
250Ride.org is a public, community-facing project. We are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful environment for visitors, volunteers, reenactors, educators, students, and partner communities. We expect all participation — online and in person — to reflect mutual respect and shared purpose.
This project will continue to evolve. As new research, voices, and perspectives are introduced, our work will grow alongside them. Our commitment is ongoing: to listen, to learn, and to tell a fuller story of the road to independence.
