As America approaches its 250th anniversary, 250Ride.org continues to expand its mission of education, reflection, and community partnership by joining together with Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, Delaware for two powerful evenings of worship, music, and unity surrounding Juneteenth celebrations featuring legendary gospel artist Pastor Shirley Caesar live in concert.

The special concerts will take place on June 18 and again on June 19 — Juneteenth — with doors opening promptly at 6:00 PM each evening. Community members, families, churches, and supporters from across the region are encouraged to attend these uplifting celebrations honoring faith, perseverance, freedom, and America’s continuing journey toward unity.

Sponsored in partnership with the Delaware Italian American Foundation, the events reflect the shared commitment between organizations to honor America’s history while creating space for meaningful conversations surrounding faith, freedom, resilience, and the voices that helped shape our nation’s story.

The celebrations will take place at Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, Delaware, welcoming guests from across the region for evenings centered around worship, reflection, gospel music, and community fellowship.

Known worldwide as one of the most influential voices in gospel music history, Pastor Shirley Caesar has inspired generations through her ministry, music, and message of hope. Her appearance during these special Juneteenth celebrations represents an opportunity to bring people together through worship while recognizing the enduring spirit of faith and resilience that continues to define the American story.

The partnership also aligns closely with the mission of 250Ride.org and its ongoing “Unheard Voices of the Revolution” initiative, which seeks to highlight individuals and perspectives often underrepresented in traditional historical narratives. Through reenactments, educational outreach, partnerships, and public events leading up to America’s Semiquincentennial, the organization continues working to ensure that history is presented in a way that is inclusive, reflective, and community-centered.

Guests attending the concerts are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as organizers prepare to welcome the community for what promises to be two memorable evenings of inspiration and celebration.

Event organizers noted that seating will be available on a first come, first served basis, and guests are encouraged to arrive together whenever possible. To maintain a respectful worship environment within the church sanctuary, attendees are asked to refrain from reserving seats for those not yet present, and food or beverages will not be permitted inside the sanctuary. Photography and video recording during the concerts will also not be permitted in order to preserve the spirit of the worship experience.

As 250Ride.org continues preparations for the June 12–13, 2026 reenactment of Caesar Rodney’s historic ride from Dover to Philadelphia, partnerships such as this serve as an important reminder that America’s story is best honored not only through remembrance, but through unity, education, worship, and shared community experiences.
