250Ride.org, in partnership with First State Brewing Company, will host its first public event leading up to the historic Caesar Rodney reenactment with a Beer Release & Kickoff Party celebrating the launch of the official 250 Ride Commemorative Beer.
The event will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, April 30, at First State Brewing Company’s Middletown location, marking a major milestone for the campaign—bringing together community, history, and storytelling in a setting designed to be both welcoming and memorable.
This easy-drinking beer, crafted specifically for the 250 Ride, represents more than just a beverage. It is a symbol of celebration as America approaches its 250th birthday, and a creative collaboration rooted in Delaware pride.
Guests are encouraged to come early or stay after, as First State Brewing Company offers a full food menu—widely considered some of the best in the area—making this event a perfect opportunity to enjoy both the experience and a great meal.
A Moment Years in the Making
“This partnership was built with intention from the very beginning,” said Lisa Marcozzi, Event Director for 250Ride.org. “We wanted to create something that felt authentic to Delaware while also giving people a fun and meaningful way to engage with the 250 Ride. This event is a perfect reflection of that vision.”
Guests attending the Beer Release & Kickoff Party will not only be among the first to experience the commemorative brew, but will also step into the world of the 250 Ride itself.
Bringing the Story to Life
The evening will feature appearances from members of the Unheard Voices of the Revolution, a core element of the 250 Ride initiative that highlights the diverse individuals who shaped America’s founding.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet members of the 250 Ride team, interact with historical reenactors, and engage directly with the people bringing this story to life.
Adding to the atmosphere, guests will be able to see the Official 250 Ride Carriage, offering a preview of the historic journey that will take place across Delaware and into Philadelphia next June.
“With an incredible beer lineup day in and day out, it’s no wonder we joined forces with First State Brewing Company,” said Jesse Heninger, Marketing Director for 250Ride.org. “It’s an honor to work with such passionate people, and we’re excited to bring this to life together.”
A Collaborative Effort
The collaboration between 250Ride.org and First State Brewing Company has been a natural fit from the start, driven by a shared passion for community engagement and creative storytelling.
“We saw this as an opportunity to be part of something bigger than just a product release,” said Jeff Horne, Marketing and Creative Specialist for First State Brewing Company. “The 250 Ride is a unique and meaningful initiative, and we’re proud to help bring people together around it in a way that’s approachable, fun, and rooted in local culture.”
An Invitation to the Community
The Beer Release & Kickoff Party serves as both a celebration and an invitation—welcoming the public to engage with the 250 Ride ahead of its two-day reenactment on June 12–13.
With great beer, live historical elements, and a strong sense of community, the event sets the tone for what is to come.
As the journey toward America’s 250th birthday continues, this gathering marks the first of many opportunities for the public to connect with the story, the people, and the purpose behind the 250 Ride.
