Caesar Rodney to Appear in Full Wardrobe as Statewide Celebration Begins.
As Delaware prepares to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, the team behind 250Ride.org are excited to be in attendance at the upcoming "Celebrate Delaware” black-tie event hosted by Delaware 250 at the historic Hotel Du Pont.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the evening will bring together leaders, organizations, and supporters from across the First State for an immersive celebration of Delaware’s past, present, and future.

A Night That Connects History and Celebration
“Celebrate Delaware” is designed as more than a formal gathering—it is an experience. Guests will move through multiple themed spaces representing Delaware’s three counties, enjoying curated food, live entertainment, and interactive elements that highlight the state’s cultural identity.
The event serves as an early milestone in the broader lead-up to the nation’s Semiquincentennial, setting the tone for the statewide initiatives that will follow throughout 2026.
250 Ride Presence at the Event
The 250 Ride team will attend continuing to build relationships and visibility around the June 12–13 reenactment of Caesar Rodney’s historic ride.
Adding to the evening’s historical significance, Caesar Rodney will be in attendance in full wardrobe, portrayed by New Castle County Register of Wills and Delaware Italian American Foundation founder Ciro Poppiti. His presence offers guests a powerful visual and personal connection to one of Delaware’s most iconic figures.
It also reinforces the living-history approach that defines the 250 Ride initiative—bringing the past into the present through authentic storytelling and immersive experiences.
A Shared Mission: Honoring the Full Story

While the evening celebrates Delaware broadly, the 250 Ride continues to focus on the urgency, sacrifice, and human stories behind independence—most notably through the reenactment of Rodney’s overnight journey from Dover to Philadelphia.
