Broad Acres on the Road to Independence

On June 12, 2026, Caesar Rodney and the 250Ride.org Living History Reenactment made its first stop at Broad Acres, a longtime Delaware family farm just outside Dover. As the horses rested before the next leg of the journey, the Broad Acres family graciously welcomed the reenactment, demonstrating how local families continue to help preserve Delaware's history.

The stop also marked the arrival of Melissa Kenny, Chief Operating Officer of the Kenny Family ShopRites of Delaware and President of the Kenny Family Foundation. Dressed in Revolutionary attire, Melissa joined the carriage as it continued toward Philadelphia, reflecting the Kenny family's commitment to serving Delaware through both community leadership and support for the state's history and heritage.
