Manorfield Recreation Area Rest Stop
One of the final stops before the 250Ride.org Living History Reenactment reached Philadelphia came at Manorfield Recreation Area in Tinicum Township, Pennsylvania. While the stop provided the horses with a well-earned opportunity to rest, graze, cool off in the shade, and be watered before the final miles of the journey, it also offered a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into the people who brought this historic story to life.
As preparations continued, 250Ride.org Founder Ciro Poppiti, portraying Caesar Rodney, was reunited with his brother, Primus Poppiti, who was getting into character as Thomas Rodney before rejoining the reenactment. Their sister, Regina Poppiti, a member of the 250Ride.org support team and a lifelong supporter of her brothers, also met the carriage at Manorfield before climbing aboard for one of the final legs into Philadelphia.
This collection captures both the quiet moments of preparation and the family connections that helped make the reenactment possible. While the horses rested for the final push toward Independence Hall, the Poppiti family shared a meaningful moment that reflected the passion, dedication, and teamwork behind the 250Ride.org mission.
