Christ Church Prayer Service & Launch

The 250Ride.org living history reenactment officially began on June 12, 2026, at historic Christ Church in Dover, Delaware. Before the journey to Philadelphia, the community gathered for an interdenominational prayer service centered on reflection, reconciliation, and remembrance, honoring both the extraordinary events that shaped America's founding and the many voices that have too often been overlooked in its history.

Following the service, a dramatic reenactment recreated the moment Thomas McKean arrived with urgent news from Philadelphia that Delaware's vote for independence was deadlocked and Caesar Rodney was needed immediately. As the congregation gathered outside, the horses were blessed, the carriage prepared for departure, and the crowd gathered to send Caesar Rodney on his way as the two-day living history reenactment officially began.
